- Philip G. Pollock, MD
- Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and in cytopathology, Dr. Pollock serves on the clinical faculty of Vanderbilt Medical School. He has a special interest and expertise in gynecologic pathology, aspiration pathology, laboratory management and patient safety. After graduating from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, in Columbia, Dr. Pollock completed his residency at the University of Vermont in Burlington and at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed a fellowship at the University of Missouri Medical Center, where he served as Director of Primary Care Laboratories. He served on the faculty of the University of Iowa School of Medicine before entering private practice in Chattanooga.
- Ronald W. Oxenhandler, MD
- Dr. Oxenhandler is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and is on the clinical faculty of Vanderbilt Medical School. He has substantial clinical and research experience in immunopathology, surgical pathology of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases, and has extensive experience in dermatopathology, including melanoma and flow cytometry. His long list of publications reflects his diverse interest in both clinical and surgical pathology. Dr. Oxenhandler completed his residency and obtained his M.D. at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He subsequently became a tenured associate professor of pathology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and spent eight years as co-director of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Ellis Fischel State Cancer Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
- Moon W. Hong, MD
- Board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and dermatopathology, Dr. Hong has a special interest and extensive experience in dermatopathology, surgical pathology, and hematopathology. After graduating from Korea University School of Medicine, Dr. Hong spent his residency training under Dr. Robert C. Horn at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric tumor pathology and hematopathology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis before entering private practice.
- Sanford C. Sharp, MD
- Dr. Sharp is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology and has a special interest and expertise in breast pathology, cytopathology, and immunohistochemistry. After graduating from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Dr. Sharp received his residency training at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. He then completed a surgical pathology fellowship, which included intensive training in breast pathology and cytopathology, with Dr. David Page at Vanderbilt Medical School. Prior to coming to Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Dr. Sharp was assistant professor of pathology and co-director of surgical pathology at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis.
- Eric Schubert, MD
- Dr. Schubert is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He has a special interest and expertise in pulmonary pathology and the application of imaging and information systems in pathology. Dr. Schubert has published and spoken on information systems in medicine at national meetings. After receiving his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, Dr. Schubert completed his pathology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to entering private practice in Chattanooga, Dr. Schubert was an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
- Thomas P. Brien, MD
- Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Brien has a special interest and expertise in gastrointestinal pathology and in molecular methods in pathology. After graduating from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Dr. Brien held a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology at Albany Medical College. He completed a pathology residency training program at the Albany Medical Center and then a fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology at Brigham Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Brien has published extensively, particularly in the area of gastrointestinal disease.
- John T. Bickel, MD
- Dr. Bickel is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and has a special interest and experience in urologic and gynecologic pathology. Dr. Bickel graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia. Before recently entering private practice in Chattanooga, Dr. Bickel served as director of anatomic pathology and chief of the special chemistry section in the Department of Pathology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, where he was also an associate professor.
- Imelda S. Bulatao, M.D.
- Dr. Bulatao is board certified in dermatopathology. She completed her surgical pathology training and her dermatopathology training at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics. She was the dermatopathologist for the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics for eight years and has been in private practice since leaving The University of Missouri in 1996. She began working with Diagnostic Pathology Services, P.C. in May of 2006.
- Paul A. Kaplan, D.O.
- Dr. Kaplan is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kaplan completed his residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia . He received honors and awards including the Excellence in Education Award as well as the AMSA Golden Apple Award from his peers. His teaching appointments at the University of Missouri range from interdepartmental subspecialty conferences to formal lectures and instruction to staff and medical students. Dr. Kaplan is published in Reproductive Medicine, Clinical Oncology, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, American Journal of Surgical Pathology along with other medical journals. His Pre-Doctoral Fellowship is in the Department of Human Anatomy. Dr. Kaplan is accomplished in the latest innovations in fine needle aspiration and bone marrow pathology. Dr. Kaplan joined Diagnostic Pathology Services, P.C. in July 2006
